Foundation & company history

MORELO Reisemobile GmbH was founded in January 2010 by Jochen Reimann in Schlüsselfeld, Bavaria. He developed the first prototype, the MORELO PALACE 90 M, together with his future business partner Reinhard Löhner. This was built in a small, uninsulated sheet metal hall, with the team of six employees starting the two-month construction phase in June 2010. Despite the modest initial conditions, the prototype was completed in time for the Caravan Salon in August 2010, where it was presented to the public for the first time. Even with this first vehicle and a factory plan, eight vehicles were sold, laying the foundation for the brand's success.
Note on the naming: The exact derivation of the name „MORELO“ from the initial letters of the founders and the word „Mobil“ is not confirmed on the official website. It is only documented that finding a name was difficult, as many of the desired names were already protected.
In 2011, Reinhard Löhner joined the company as a further Managing Director. The official history describes him as a later business partner of Jochen Reimann, but does not give an exact date when he joined as Managing Director for Technology and Sales.
